The title track is, in a way, a continuation of The Forgotten Death Ritual in that it is a eulogy for ancient burial rites. The details of the lyrics are speculation, of course, but I felt connected (in spirit and strangely in rhythm) to these ancient ceremonies as I was writing the music and poetry. Hopefully the listener will transcend time for a few moments. I use the term "shaman" in the lyrics for lack of better terminology. No Adena or Hopewell words are known so I had to use a general term for their spiritual leaders.
A plume of smoke rising, aligning with the moon
A gateway to the sky road for ment lost too soon
We drum and we chant, with antlers worn high
For our departed shaman, who wanders the sky
A hallowed procession for otherworld flights
An angle to guide us on burial nights
